One must confess. Anyone who checks in here has them all – these black and platinum credit cards. But luxury wants to be paid. And rightly so, I think, when I look at the factsheet, still no clue which of these beautiful pictures I should show you. Of course, we traveled to Marrakesh ourselves and visited the newborn star of the Hotel Sky of Marrakech.
Wide views, oriental design and lots of light

This is the first impression when you enter the courtyard of the new Oberoi. The view immediately falls through a gate, a water channel that leads your eye through an apparently endless garden until your gaze sticks to the Atlas Mountains. Nothing but azure sky.
Thoughtful details – stylish design
The hotel is designed completely in a unique oriental style. With everything that goes with it. Light courtyards, water, and gardens. The principle of every Moroccan palace. As you walk through the hotel, your gaze is constantly caught by new, beautiful design details. It’s like a poem you read. I can’t describe it any other way.
The newest hotel in the well-known Oberoi Hotels chain only opened in December 2019. Far later than we had to realize our travel plans. Therefore we could not book and had to book another luxury hotel. I am very sorry!
An evening in the Oberoi Marrakech
At least we were able to get a wonderful evening with an excellent dinner in the hotel restaurant. In one of the three restaurants. It was too cold in December for the Azure, which lures guests outdoors and offers a fantastic view of the mountains over the pool and gardens.
After three days of Moroccan cuisine, we were looking forward to a Mediterranean dinner at the Tamint.
In the Siniman Restaurant, Moroccan dishes are served at high levels. The restaurant reviews have already overturned. My tip: Place a table reservation soon.
However, we were prepared for international cuisine that evening.
The Cocktail Show
Before that, we hade a nice cocktail. And – I almost forgot – in the Oberoi, you make an event out of a cocktail. So we were amazed when the bartender mixed our drinks directly at the table. Somehow I just like things like that. As I watched him while he prepared the cocktails for us, I felt somehow as if I had just come home.
After the cocktail, we were picked up and brought to our table. If you ever land up in a foreign city and don’t know where to eat well, first check whether there is an Oberoi Hotel. Because food is always excellent there.

The spirit of Rai Bahadur Mohan Singh Oberoi also in Marrakech

The evening lasted longer than planned. I could hardly tear myself away from the many details of the hotel. It was unfortunately much too late for a room tour. We chatted with the open-minded employees, laughed at their anecdotes and listened to how they told the exciting story of the time before the opening, and how everything was finally finished in time. The Spirit of the founder seems to have moved in already ( I have already reported) and has cast his gentle spell over the staff that every Oberoi seems to have. It lives with the kind of people who work there. The very typical Oberoi Esprit was strongly felt here.
Suites and private villas of the Oberoi Marrakech
As I have already mentioned, we, unfortunately, could not live in the new Oberoi. Thanks to my long-standing relationship with the head office and marketing in Delhi, I was able to get these brand new pictures and I can publish them.
The luxury hotel has a total of 84 guest rooms. There are 72 deluxe villas, six of them are deluxe rooms, there are four presidential villas, a royal suite, and a royal villa. All rooms have one thing in common. They are all lovingly and beautifully decorated down to the last detail. In the Oberoi, there is a lot of space for the guest, free goodies and despite functionality, space does not lose comfort.
In addition to the complimentary water, you’ll find every day fresh fruits in the room. The bathroom is also fully equipped. If you like your coffee in the morning in private, you can use the Nespresso machine at hand.
The villas all have a private pool. There is, of course, a shared pool in the garden and a nice SPA where you can let yourself get pampered.
Our conclusion about the Oberoi Hotel Marrakesch

The Oberoi Hotel Marrakesch has more than luxury hotel needs. It is on the edge of the city, so not as central as the other luxury resorts in Marrakech. However – the proximity to one of the most beautiful golf courses makes the hotel interesting for golf enthusiasts.
The whole building is a work of art, but without being uncomfortable.
The view and gardens with a view of the Atlas are unique. Three restaurants and a very cozy cocktail bar provide culinary delights. In terms of price, it is in the top class, although I understand the price-performance ratio here better than in the other, world-famous hotel. I can only recommend this hotel! And we? We will come back, for granted!
Another tip offtopic:
Our local taxi driver had no idea where the new Oberoi Hotel Marrakech is, nor its taxi center. If in doubt, call the hotel and they will send you a reasonable driver with a reasonable limousine and local knowledge.

Absolutely stunning! I have wanted to go to Marocco and Marrakesh for many years. And it is exactly this kind of hotel that conveys the atmosphere of 1001 nights that I would hope to encounter there.
